(#028) “Cho of… IV – Root of Freedome is Ι”

“Listen carefully Choky! Today we have a celebration, and all the animals from our farm will have come to celebrate your graduation! Obviously, another little life lesson is needed for us to manage to enjoy freedom freely!

“The oldest references to the quality of being free are found in the ancient works of Homer, in just two phrases. ‘Free day’, the day of freedom, and ‘whom the gods love die young’ standing as a marker for freedom, repelling enemies. Therefore, free is the one who can repel his enemies, to avoid subjugation. Able to chase away, to strike, to attack his enemy. The one who rides against another opponent, that is, free. The opposite of a slave, freed from something, independent.

“The verb ‘to ride’ comes from the future of ‘ia-lo’, to come. In Homer it is mentioned especially in the context of stolen animals, which the thief must drive, set in motion, abduct, drive away, oppress, attack, paddle, striking something on something else, forging metal, piece, spring, elastic, blade, sheet, rubber, to parade an invasion. ‘Iallo’ is the present and the future. Like saying run and sing ‘Ia!’ The ‘a’ for the intensity of the voice, ‘Ia!’ as an exclamation to encourage fighters, approaching, dogs, until now “g-i-a”, voice, cry.
The root ‘i’ is pronounced with tightened vocal cords and from all other vowels it is pronounced with the least intensity but also with the greatest at the same time, range. It may have been the motto of primitive hunters to attack prey or to throw arrows or javelins, because ‘iemi’ is also used as ‘to set in motion’. If that’s the case, it may have been pronounced as ‘gi’, ‘gie’, ‘gia’, depending on the need for intensity. The paracletic ‘a-ï’, ‘aïde’, is probably very ancient and from it probably comes ‘iemi’. Also through the cry ‘for…’, they probably drove the beasts away from the prey to snatch it.

“The historian teacher Dionysios of Halicarnassus was sure that love for freedom was inherent in all people. Much later, Alexandre Dumas, an author of a central commonwealth of the Earth, agreed that every person was indeed born free. There is no real superiority except the superiority of thought and virtue, he added. The world must finally learn it, he shouted!
Another ancient Greek, Alcidamas, Aristotle’s teacher, taught him that slavery is contrary to nature because only human laws make some slaves and others free. In nature there is no such difference, which is unjust and the result of violence.

“Much later, Lincoln, a leader of a western commonwealth of the Earth, added to Aristotle’s words the idea that by giving freedom to slaves, the freedom of the free is ensured. While a scientist of the central commonwealth, Voltaire, named freedom the ability to think or not think about something, to move somewhere or to stand somewhere, according to the choice of his spirit.

But the saying I like the most from all these people and their crazy ones is that of Flavius Arrianus, a student of Epictetus, some philosophers of ancient Anatolia. For them, a free person was one who lived as he pleased, who no one could force to do anything, nor prevent him from doing it, whom no one could impose by force, who never stopped at something he started, who never gave up on anything that caused great fear.

“Well, for the end let’s say, look to remember some of the most humorous proverbs about what an enemy means from Kefalonia, an island of western Greece, in the southern commonwealth. Listen to what these people said Tsoky and we’ll laugh afterwards together!

Your new house, the first year of your enemy,
the second year of your own and the third of your pride!

Brother even if he’s an enemy!

Better a wise enemy,
than a crazy friend!

By doing good to your enemy, you put
burning coals on his head!

An old enemy, does not become a friend, who does not listen to his friends and gratifies his enemies!

Friends in my need, and enemies in my joy!

But that’s enough, for I forgot myself again. And already a crowd has gathered! But to be truthfull, I’ve been trying to hint to you for so long that I have a surprise for you in secret. Surely you would have heard that I’m preparing something for you. Something you sensed, it can’t be that you didn’t, you ignorant!
So, the time for mysteries is over!
With this belt with pockets and all its accessories, I will share my freedom with you from now on!
I made you a worthy one for you, my friend Cho Kyon, to have everything your kind needs!
The time has come for you to take on the responsibility of the Homeostasis A.TH.A.H. E., and for me, finally, the time to leave for the unknown.
It’s been too many years since I waited for this moment. I’ve been ready for a long time, but I’ve never had a trusted person like you to stay behind and take care of the system. I’m not afraid anymore of jumping into the void, I feel capable and strong!
I will leave tomorrow morning, first thing!
I will travel towards the stars, to the Earth resting in peace in beautiful space pieces waiting to be found and I tell you if I get satisfied and if luck helps, here I’ll come back again!”
